I’ve always had cats & dogs. Not once have I ever had a dog being to scared or wary to pass by the cat, as it will probably lash out (no claws, I know). I wouldn’t let the cats intimidate the dogs like that anyway. There is a big difference to them doing this in play, to a cat being a dominant, aggressive force. Nor would ever let the dogs drag a cat along by it’s tail – no matter how innocent on the dogs part. Or smother, even with love, a cat that is trying to extract itself from a situation, like the cat with the husky puppies. No harm is intended in any of these instances, but I feel it doesn’t promote or encourage an equal, and in turn, harmonious relationship between the two. My cats & dogs have been taught to respect each others boundaries (as much as you can teach them). Never have they had any ‘punch ups’ or so called ‘play’ fights that are more offense/defense on both parts. They’ve always played well & lovingly together, snuggled & slept together & clearly have a strong bond. I know some will say I’m being oversensitive, but in some of these clips, I just feel uncomfortable. It might be funny, with no malice, on the human’s part, but that’s not clearly the case with the animals sometimes.
