It’s very sweet how she checked him out first, wasn’t sure, then mom “instincts” kick in and she’s now the mother of two. An orphan has mother and a chance at life. She’s a good mom.
That literally brought tears to my eyes how she took the little kitten in as her own and now has a Mom that cares for two sweet babies.
Mama cat was like, “Huh? I don’t remember having a baby with THIS coloring. But—-I guess I must have, because he’s in my beddie-bye basket. Oh well.”
I think she was looking for the mother, since that meow sounds the same as when I hear the cats around me call to each other, it’s more of a trill than the meow they use with people. When the mom didn’t show up she decided to help out. When cats live in large communities sometimes they’ll take care of each other’s kittens.
